I put myself into an awful situation involving a home break in.

Typed from my phone so excuse grammatical errorsAbout two days ago my niece walked into my computer room to get some clothes out of a spare dresser, she walked in and ran out and woke me up very frantically telling me someone was in my computer room asleep. Some backstory. I'm a college student living at home still, I live with my mom, my dad and my niece. My room has a small storage room connected to it that I turned into a computer room, it has my computer, my family's computer, an aquarium and a recliner in it, as well as the aforementioned dresser that my niece uses for all her clothes.I carried a FN FNS-9 but sold it because it was too big to conceal, the money has been sitting in my savings account, but I had planned on buying a FNS-9C.My dad carries a SW-40Back to the story. When my niece woke me up I was more confused that anything. But I walked into the room and sure enough, there is a 20~ year old white male passed out in my recliner. I go on red alert, run through my house and check on mom, dad, pets. Call 911. Dad goes to my room with his gun and tries to wake him, which takes a "gentle" shaking. He wakes up and dad has his gun pointed at him. He didn't even flinch, he acted confused. 15-20 minutes go by and the cops still aren't there and this dude refuses to leave. He keeps saying that "Steven" let him sleep there. No one by Steven lives in my house.Cops finally show up (after I called back) and they escort him out and we find out some backstoryHe got wasted at a party 3 miles away from my house, he got on a four wheeler and wrecked it in my yard, he came in the house, made coffee, spilled the coffee, slept on the sofa, and then walked through the house, through my room, past me, my dog and my sleeping girlfriend and passes out in the computer room.Guy was essentially harmless and just hungover the cops took him home and it was all said and done. We were pretty freaked out, but okay.So some things I've learned: If we hadve woken him and he was combative, we would've needed cops there a whole lot faster than they actually were. I'm buying another firearm this week. I've been putting it off and considering he walked right by my, if he hadve had bad intentions I would have been in a bad situation. Also my dog is useless. So overall it was scary, but not a life threatening situation, i learned a lot from this experience for sure. via /r/CCW http://ift.tt/2fLyq9k
