Initial Impressions of Vedder LightDraw OWB

This is partial follow-up to, http://ift.tt/29LKLJV, and an early review of the Vedder LightDraw OBW.I was debating between ordering with standard clips or pancake clips. I ordered it with standard clips and included a set of pancake clips on Monday. It arrived today, Saturday, for a order-to-door period of 6 days. The configuration for my Glock 19 is at 4 o'clock with a 10 degree forward cant.First thing I did was determine which clips I preferred. For me, that is the standard clips. The pancake clips pull the gun into your body very well, almost IWB close to the body. With the pancake clips a Glock 19 conceals very well under an untucked (obviously) button-up shirt. With the standard clips there is some lines in your shirt so do not use them if you wear polo shirts or T-shirts.Next was the comfort. More comfortable than IWB, and I have the holy grail of IWB holsters of this sub, Stealthgear. This should be no surprise when comparing OWB vs IWB. The only issue of comfort someone may have with this is if they use the pancake clips without wearing an undershirt; the grip may dig into their torso.Concealability is always a concern when carrying. With the pancake clips this is very concealed as it is pulled into the body. Even with the standard clips it is well concealed, the only issue may be shirts that exaggerate lines like clingy polo shirts or T-shirts. Also, since Vedder does not do the outline of the gun like a JM Custom, which is why 6 days vs 9 weeks, there is some extra bulk to conceal so smaller shirts may be too short. And as I always say with OWB, only do it if you can open carry in your state because at some point it will be exposed; the only question is if you or someone else catches it first.Lastly, you may have to switch your wallet to the other side. If you put your wallet in your back pocket which is the same side of your gun, with this holster at 4 o'clock access to your back pocket is limited.With my initial thoughts and impressions I give this holster 4 Stars. It's shipped quickly, conceals well when you dress around it, it is comfortable, and holy hell the price is right on. I'm holding back the last star because of the extra bulk which limits access to the back pocket and it is not offered with a 15degree cant for those that like 5 o'clock carry. via /r/CCW http://ift.tt/29LVdNt
