.380 for carry or not

Can anyone tell me, with data or evidence why it is not a good idea to primarily carry a .380 lcp? I have heard .380 does not penetrate enough as well as it lacks stopping power however from the tests I have seen it still performs ok via /r/CCW http://ift.tt/2eit4kl
