Why you should always do your research before carrying!

This story was posted yesterday but removed because of rule compliance so I polished it a bit but the moral is still the same.A friend of mine, call him Bob (not his real name) recently acquired a new job out of state, but closer to home, he regularly open carries in his home state, but does not have a valid CCW permit.Bob was target practicing before work, and placed his firearm in his glovebox in his usual spot and went to work. After work, Bob was pulled over for speeding on his way home. When the cop approached his vehicle and asked for his registration, he was honest and told him he had a loaded firearm in his glovebox. The cop immediately ordered him out of the vehicle with his hands in the air and placed him at the rear of the vehicle until backup arrived.Since he does not have a valid permit in his home state, they confiscated his firearm and gave him a court date as well as a hefty ticket and he has to pay to get his weapon back. This guy has no previous charges or felonies, he just does not know his gun rights and rules from state to state, and believed that it was his right to carry his firearm in his vehicle for self defense.Moral of the story: Always do your research, and know what the carrying laws are for the states that you are going to be traveling so your not in a similar situation. via /r/CCW http://ift.tt/2aAqEZO
