Have you ever been given incorrect information about the law during your concealed carry classroom course?

So this past weekend I took the concealed carry course for Oklahoma. About an hour into the course, after all the introductory stuff is out of the way, this goofball from U.S. Law Shield comes in and starts off asking the class how they transported their firearms to class today. Most of us said something along the lines of "unloaded, in the case, in the backseat/trunk". This guy tells us we all broke Oklahoma law. He goes on to say the law says "unloaded, open, and in plain view". He then interprets this statement to literally mean "open chamber, laying either on the seat next to you or on the dash". The class was stunned. First thing I do when I get home is look up the actual law, as it is written.TITLE 21 § 1289.7 FIREARMS IN VEHICLES Any person, except a convicted felon, may transport in a motor vehicle a rifle, shotgun or pistol, open and unloaded, at any time. For purposes of this section “open” means the firearm is transported in plain view, in a case designed for carrying firearms, which case is wholly or partially visible, in a gun rack mounted in the vehicle, in an exterior locked compartment or a trunk of a vehicle. Any person, except a convicted felon, may transport in a motor vehicle a rifle or shotgun concealed behind a seat of the vehicle or within the interior of the vehicle provided the rifle or shotgun is not clip, magazine or chamber loaded. The authority to transport a clip or magazine loaded rifle or shotgun shall be pursuant to Section 1289.13 of this title. Any person who is the operator of a vehicle or is a passenger in any vehicle wherein another person who is licensed pursuant to the Oklahoma Self-Defense Act to carry a handgun, concealed or unconcealed, and is carrying a handgun or has the handgun in such vehicle, shall not be deemed in violation of the provisions of this section provided the licensee is in or near the vehicle. So what the fuck man? I feel like I'm being taught by idiots! Anyone ever have a similar situation happen in their course?Follow up question: Did a representative from U.S. Law Shield come to your class to do a sales pitch? I felt like I was being held hostage and shaken down for ransom money, since this part of the course was apparently mandatory. The whole thing seemed very shady. via /r/CCW http://ift.tt/2asW4os
