I recently filled up with gas and grabbed a snack at 7/11 on my way to Dallas for the State Fair. As I'm leaving the parking lot I see a gay couple enter the the store both open carrying at 3 o'clock. One of the men was in my graduating class, that is how I know he bats for the other team. Both have interesting cut colored hair, wearing cut skinny jeans, some body piercings etc (quite literally the opposite stereotype of a licensed holder) . I thought to myself "now that is something you don't see everyday." Then of course I began to judge the possibility that they open carry for the attention, which in my mind they probably do. We are in a very affluent, safe suburb in the metroplex and to see people open carrying is like seeing a unicorn take a shit on Jack's giant beanstalk, you just don't see it. Part of me is happy to see people excising their rights but part of me thinks they should just be concealing and not open carrying as open carrying in this particular suburb would only cause anxiety and nervousness among others. Who am I to judge though? Its their right, with a LTC, to open or conceal carry here in Texas. I just hope they train and have good retention skills. What are y'alls thoughts?I'm not judging their sexual orientation nor do I want to start a debate on said topic. I just found the anti stereotype very interesting and felt compelled to write here. via /r/CCW http://ift.tt/2eltogH
