Carrying in a backpack.

I'm wondering if anyone has experience carrying in a backpack with a holster attached somewhere inside. I work on the water in a high traffic tourist destination and just for that fact I would like to carry at work. My company has a no firearms policy but many captains and a few deckhands carry sporadically on the DL, so carrying on my person is a no go especially since half the time I'm on the side of a 100 ton vessel. But my backpack is always within reach and I would like to keep it in there with a holster attached inside some how without having to buy a new bag.
