Where does it go when you can't take it with you?

I am fortunate enough to live in a state where signs don't hold force of law. But, I try to respect the wishes of the owners as best as possible (I'm gonna carry to a mall, but probably not in a restaurant with signs posted). I drive a jeep which means that you can break into my car if you know how a zipper works. My glove box and center console lock because jeep isn't stupid. Regardless, I bought a lockbox that bolts under the driver's seat and I'm really happy with it. Do you think that's secure enough?What does everyone else use?
