Please help clarify safety and decocker on beretta M9a1

So my understanding is I will use the safety to decock, and then when i go to carry for the day I will take the safety off and rely on the DA as the safety. My question is, with significant force directly to the hammer, would it be the same as having the hammer fall from a trigger pull position? That is to say again, the safety is off, the hammer is decocked, and the hammer is hit with the same amount of force it would have falling from a cocked position, will it set off the round or is there a firing pin block tied to the trigger pull itself? Thanks. via /r/CCW https://ift.tt/2zT6Lie
