Let me set the scene. Dayton Mall area in SW Ohio, pretty bad part of town IMO. 4pm in the afternoon and despite all the snow, pretty busy area. I am out getting a new video game at Best Buy and helping my wifes friend move some furniture because she will be staying with us for a few months. I figured "eh, Im just getting a game and helping her move, shouldnt need my gun."Well I got done at Best Buy, no worries, and picked up her dresser and bed in my truck. I drive an 05 GMC Sierra 1500 so its nothing fancy. I pull out of her complex and everything in the truck bed begins to tilt so I am thinking "FUCK!! I gotta pull over and tighten the straps more." I pull into Sears auto cetner parking lot (for anyone near Dayton, you know that lot is a ghost town) and begin tightening the straps. Well I am almost done and this maroon Chrysler sedan with all tinted windows pulls up about 10 yards behind my truck and seems to slam on the brakes (or skids because of the ice and snow). There is nobody else around.My first initial thought was that I dont have my gun on me, so I start freaking a little while continuously watching the car to see if they do anything. I ratchet the straps two more (quick) times and hop into the truck and take off out of there. Luckily the stuff didnt shift anymore but it was a freaky situation. Ive said it here before and I will start doing it much more frequently, dont think you wont need it. It wouldnt have helped my situation and I wouldnt have stuck around longer if I had it, but I would have felt safer. via /r/CCW http://ift.tt/2r91nDw
