Hey. Okay, heads up - this is a weird situation.
I’m working on reconnecting with my family. I left because there was a lot of physical abuse. My brother in particular seems to deal with things through violence. I want to be able to talk to him about going to therapy and the stuff we went through, but we have to get on speaking terms first. Yes, this situation sucks but this is my family - every family is complicated. Please don’t judge my brother. That’s not what I’m looking for here.
My brother (6’+, 200+ lbs) will only reopen with me if he gets to hit me. I’ve been through some fights, so I’m willing to take a knock just to get to speaking terms. However, I want to be able to soundly defend myself if he goes too far. I don’t want to hurt him, but I want to know that I (5’ 7”, 160lbs) can put him on his ass if I needed too.
Which form of self defense is the best to learn for defeating or subduing a bigger opponent?
