CCW and the use of ‘legal’ marijuana, and denial of your rights.

With marijuana being now legal in CA and a few other states I’d like to point out something that I feel will become a legal liability for those that partake ‘legally.’The Feds don’t really care what your state has to say and continue to maintain a hard line on marijuana use.By getting a card or registering in any way as a user of said plants you are providing your name on a list and a confession that you are now violating Federal law.As such, you may very well find a time when you cannot buy a weapon as you fail the background check, or when you fill out your BATFE form and come across this verbiage:Are you an unlawful user of, or addicted to, marijuana or any depressant, stimulant, narcotic drug, or any other controlled substance? The use or possession of marijuana remains unlawful under Federal law regardless of whether it has been legalized or decriminalized for medical or recreational purposes in the state where you reside.Reference 11eWill you lie and commit a felony? Is your name on some dispensary register? Did you get a prescription? Pay with a credit card?I’m going to say eventually this will become an issue and a great many people will find themselves hapless victims of a confiscation scenario as their names are pulled from various databases and cross checked against weapons purchases.Forewarned is forearmed - literally in this case. via /r/CCW http://ift.tt/2CzuMc5
