"Concealed Carry Insurance" Worth it or a scam?

I didn't know this was a thing until I reached the portion of my LTC where the instructor sort of gave a sales pitch on this service where you pay monthly for different benefits. The most notable benefit being that there's a 24/7 line where an experienced attorney will answer the phone and help you with your legal situation. There's no cap on attorney fees for civil or criminal cases. The instructor then went on about some story where a friend of his ended up paying $250,000 in legal fees after being sued in civil court by multiple members of a family where the friend pulled the trigger and shot one of the members of said family in a domestic violence case. This confuses me that this is a thing because I'm copying and pasting the following penal code: "Sec. 83.001. CIVIL IMMUNITY.A defendant who uses force or deadly force that is justified under Chapter 9, Penal Code, is immune from civil liability for personal injury or death that results from the defendant’s use of force or deadly force, as applicable."However, what confuses me even more is that there was a true or false question on the state test that asked something along the lines of "You cannot be sued in civil court for the use of justified deadly force against another person." and the correct answer was false? via /r/CCW http://ift.tt/2u9IgH1
