Living with roommates(Strangers) and Firearms

So I live in an apartment with two roommates. I own Two firearms, one Ar-15, and one shield. I am currently interviewing people to fill a room in which is soon to be vacated. I bought my first firearm about a year ago, I had been living in the apartment for about half a year and knew my current roommates well enough. they were clean hardworking and kind of earthy crunchy types. They had asked if i owned/carry firearms previously due to my future plans and current job. I said no but I did have plans to own one in the future and they said they were okay with that as long as i told them which I did. and all was okay. fast forward to now. I dont totally know a person that is about to be living with me except that he has a full time job clean criminal record, and seems like a nice guy. welp I had no intentions of ever bringing it up (see:Concealed is concealed) then my GF asked, and i told her that I didn't plan on telling and she flipped. told me that they have a right to know etc etc... I know shame on me right. I shouldn't be living with strangers and own a firearm. well i pay 500 a month for rent and am trying to save money. I am moving from a smaller room in the apt to a bigger one and had plans to get a dead bolt lock for my bedroom, and i already have a small safe which i also plan to bolt to the floor. I did not sign any lease agreements. and neither will the incoming roommate. In the end my GF cannot force me to tell anyone but i would like some advice. have tried doing some research here and r/firearms but havent found anything. via /r/CCW http://ift.tt/2hHrwQU
