Lets Talk: Non-Shooting Equipment That May Save Your Life


All of us have our opinions on the best carry gun, holsters, backup magazines, and flashlights. All of those things increase your odds of surviving a defensive gun use. Let's discuss the non-gun related things you should have with you.Medical Kit/First Aid KitBased on the odds, you will use a medical kit several times in your life. It could be from cutting yourself camping, first on scene of an auto accident, or from a ND/ricochet at a range. At minimum, you should have the following with you or in your vehicle:2 TourniquetsFirst-aid manualSterile gauze pads of different sizesAdhesive tapeAdhesive bandages in several sizesElastic bandageA splintAntiseptic wipesSoapYour blood type informationIf you are severely wounded, you will be given blood. The American Red Cross, best known for their blood donation drives, will give you a card with your blood type on it for donating. Keep it in your wallet/purse close to your drivers license, or behind it.
