First time flying

Hi everyone I have already read the FAQ but was looking for some good tips or advice for flying. I will be taking multiple business trips from NM to Texas. I believe I checked guidelines correctly and TX honors my permit. My understanding is that I need to check my bag in with my firearm in a hard case and declare I'll be traveling with my gun. Magazines have to be empty but can be in the same hard case and ammo must be boxed but separate. Am I missing anything or is it really more simple than it sounds? Also I'll be traveling with my new boss and meeting him for the first time so how discreet are the airlines about mentioning me having my firearm? Thanks. via /r/CCW http://ift.tt/2oR0PfC
