First, I've looked on Reddit at home defense subs and there doesn't seem to be much. /r/homedefense seems to be primarily about cameras and physical barriers, etc. If this would be better on /r/guns, I can delete and repost there. So my question is regarding your personal home defense setups. I currently have a loaded/chambered Glock 19 by my bedside in a 4 button access lockbox. It is easy enough to access in a non-stress practice situation, but as I just realized tonight when my dog startled me as I'm laying in bed, I don't know that I'm quick enough to access the gun and then use it with any effectiveness in a stressful situation.I have a 2 year old daughter, so keeping the gun out of her hands is my number one priority. If it weren't for this, I'd probably do what I've always done: loaded 12 gauge bedside. Unfortunately, a gun in a safe is about the only option I currently have in my possession. So to my question...for those of you with small kids in the house, what is your home defense setup? Are there any decent systems that are easy access to me but not my daughter? Any kind of biometric trigger lock or quick-action safe? Even the biometric safes seem like they'd be too time-consuming if someone is already in the house.Sorry if this is a bit off topic, but thanks in advance for any info. via /r/CCW http://ift.tt/2oCMGSH
