Checking a firearm through JFK

So I just checked my shield in JFK, aka NYC.One of the best experiences I've ever had with cops.Process:talk to the check in lady let her know I have a gun to check in. We talk about how often she deals with this and how Texas let you "check nukes, even their dogs carry there"TSA shows up. I bullshit with them a bit, talk about the place I'm going. We wait for Port Authority PD to come check my credentials (read: NY pistol permit)they show up, I show them my gun, rack it, put it away, show my permit and they say I'm all set. Talk about my trip for a few then head out.get to skip the entire security line. TSA guy pulls me thru the entire thing so my security takes all of 2 minutes. Talk more about destinationThis was my first time flying with my pistol. I was crazy nervous because this was NYC but it went beautifully.Protip: be politics and conversational and you will have an excellent time. This totally changed my opinion of PAPD via /r/CCW http://ift.tt/2kxIpCM
