Accidentally brought an unloaded magazine through airport security

So today I goofed up. I'm flying out of Georgia and brought a book bag that I apparently brought to the range a year ago. In it was an empty Walther PPS mag. No ammo or no gun, just a tiny metal box with a spring hidden in a deep pocket. The TSA agent got shitty with me really quickly and shouted, "so you brought ammunition in your carry on huh"? I was surprised and said no. Then he pulls out the mag and said he's calling police. Other TSA agents were super friendly but he was tripping.Cop shows up and asks me some questions. He really didn't care at all and since its not illegal on a local or state level. He said it happens all the time and even offered for me to pick it back up on my return flight. However he did say I should expect a letter in the mail from the TSA. I'm expecting a nasty gram or a fine since it's considered "firearm parts" according to their site. I'm totally owning up to my goof and will pay the fine as soon as it shows up.Has anyone else experienced this? Should I be worried in the future about flying or having anything on my "record"? I know it's a civil matter but with the TSA you never know. via /r/CCW http://ift.tt/2lqAVko
