If you've been putting off buying a solid belt for carrying, stop it. 3.5 years of CC with weak belts and I just got my Hanks.

I might ramble because it's snowing like mad and I'm stuck inside. So I have always seen and heard the posts about how you should get a stiff, thick belt for carrying. I didn't think it was wrong, I just didn't think about it, or I thought, "Yeah, eventually I'll do that." Then I'd look at belts online and think about how I don't want to spend money on something without knowing how it fits, and "how can I trust their size chart when my jean size is different between brands?", and I'd talk myself out of it. And months would pass and I'd carry with flimsy belts from the department store, and I'd find myself having to readjust because the holster's cant would shift getting in and out of the car. Or I'd have the holster and gun positioned so I could comfortably stand or sit, but it would shift with movement and when I went to sit down next I'd be getting gouged. Or the belt would start folding on itself and my holster would be riding lower than it ought to after pulling my pants up a bit. And I'd think, "I should look at gun belts online," and it would start all over.Recently I bought some new jeans because I lost a little weight, and finally decided to say fuck it and take a chance on a gun belt. They say to order 2 sizes larger than what your pant size is, so to be safe I ordered 3 sizes above the size of my most recent pairs of jeans. It arrived this morning and I am kicking myself for not getting a good belt sooner. Not only does it fit and feel great, but I've never felt any of my holsters for any of my guns feel more secure. Took a short walk in them, been high stepping, lunging, and slav squatting around my apartment trying to find faults and I'm struggling to.So if you're making excuses for not spending money on a good gun belt (seriously not even that much, under $40 shipped on sale last week), stop it. If you're carry setup is not comfortable and you aren't confident in it, it's easy to start making excuses to not carry.TL;DR: Buy a good, stiff belt. via /r/CCW http://ift.tt/2hTMm2X
