Will a holster designed for a weapon light retain the gun securely without the light attached?

I have a (probably dumb) question. I am about to get my first CC holster. I don't have a light yet, but will probably get one in the next month or two, and I'd rather not have to get another holster right away (since I want to get a pretty good quality setup). So, if I get a holster (kydex) for a gun+light (e.g. G19 with a TLR-1), will it still securely hold the gun without the light attached?Probably talking OWB (it's about to get pretty cold, very soon, where I live) but also curious about IWB: Does it depend on the kind of holster?
