Wife not ok with AIWB

My wife and I have never been 'gun enthusiasts', however we agreed that I could purchase my first pistol, a VP9, earlier this year, primarily for home defense. I originally had no intent of carrying, but now we've agreed it is a good idea.I have a concealment express holster used only for transporting it in a bag going to and from the range. Tried wearing it around the house, and IWB 4 o'clock looks like I have a gun shaped tumor on my back. AIWB was more concealed, but obviously the holster sucks and is uncomfortable. After researching, I decided AIWB would be the best method for such a large gun, and got a stealthgear ventcore AIWB. When it arrived, I tried it on, showed my wife, and she immediately rejected AIWB for fear of shooting my dick off.I explained kydex, how guns don't just go off out of nowhere, and practicing drawing, and faster draw times, and so on... But she still just nopes the idea. Even had a gun enthusiast friend of ours that she trusts explain, and still nope. I explained a VP9 is hard to conceal at 4 o'clock because of size, and she said that I should get a smaller gun then.I love the VP9 and its capacity, but can't conceal it, so I'm stuck here with a couple of options. S&W shield is my first thought, but I haven't fired one yet, so I don't know if I'll like it or not, also don't like the reduced capacity but can liv with that over not carrying at all I guess. Want to stay with 9mm, so avoiding LCP. I hate the G19, and don't want one.Option 2, I haven't tried the VP9 with a proper good IWB holster, so I'm thinking getting a good one with a claw to hide this massive grip might help.I should count my blessings I have a wife encouraging me to buy another gun (I mean, how often does that happen?!?!), but want input from this sub. I'm thinking I could have a summer and winter carry option, since I live in a 4 seasons area, and only carry the VP9 under sweaters and such, and carry a shield under tee shirts. What would you do? via /r/CCW http://ift.tt/2ytnVOU
