**Rule 1: clarification

We understand that there is some confusion with regards to the language of Rule 1, as written:Content Not Applicable: Any post that does not relate to self-defense.The words “relate to self-defense” have spurred some discussion amongst the users of this sub, and amongst the moderation team. The issue being that posts that involve CCW do not necessarily relate to self-defense. The moderation team has thoroughly discussed this ambiguity amongst ourselves and with many members of the community. It is our position that the best way to address this issue is to reword the language of Rule 1, in order to encompass posts relating to CCW, and posts relating to self-defense. The revised language of Rule 1 is as follows:Content Not Applicable: Any post that does not relate to (a) the carrying of a weapon in a legal manner; or (b) any post that does not relate to self-defense.The intent of this revision is to permit posts that relate to the carrying of a weapon in a legal manner, but do not necessarily relate to self-defense. It is our belief that this new language better aligns with the content that the /r/CCW community wishes to see. The revised language was drafted with the assistance of many members of the /r/CCW community, and after lengthy discussions amongst the moderation team.
