Trip to Ft. Lauderdale with CCW

I will update this thread as I go along. I'm currently on a business trip to Ft. Lauderdale and decided to bring along my CCW (Shield 9mm). Everything went fine in the departure city (Huntsville, AL) but when we landed in Ft. Lauderdale I was waiting on my baggage and waited and waited and when the rest of the crew started getting restless I recalled an article I read about Delta tagging luggage with firearms and making you pick it up in a special place. So, I remembered that AA tagged my luggage with a red tag in Hville and it said "return to BSO". Anyhow, it was so awkward because a senior leader was like "Oh, let's see what's going on.." and wanted to escort me to the baggage office. I tried to play it off but she insisted. I went into the baggage office and sure enough there sat my luggage. I had to show my ID to get it. Nevertheless, the senior leader said "that was odd" and I told her I had some "medical" things that sometimes causes a trigger or diversion of my luggage. Needless to say this was frustrating. It could have made a weird scene for sure but I played it off cool. I'm hesitant to carry at the conference but I wanted to have it on hand if I needed it or during down time. Let this be a lesson. American Airlines may divert your luggage and "special" tag it with your CCW inside. Even though I'm pretty sure they're not supposed to and it doesn't mention it on their website. via /r/CCW http://ift.tt/2oqym46
