Looking for a reliable gun lockbox/safe for the car, I'll be carrying a S&W M&P Shield 9mm. I drive a 2013 Malibu and unfortunately there's a hump under the seat(as well as wires and such) which I don't think will allow me to place it underneath. Unless someone can attest to this. I've seen pics of people having them in their trunks, but I'd prefer not unholstering my weapon outside of the vehicle in plain sight. I'd prefer to keep it inside and easily accessible to me. Any advice/recommendations are greatly appreciated. Also I plan on having it holstered at all times when driving. Never overnight and only when I know I'm not permitted to carry.
