Glock carry with a round chambered

It took me a long while to finally carry with a round chambered. A good kydex holster (Vedder IWB light tuck ) helped immensely for me.The other day my wife and I had an experience that showed me that the concept that "There will always be time to load if something happens" is so not true.We were at an outdoor strip mall eating ice cream and relaxing when suddenly a young man on a bicycle rode right up to me in my face. Turned out he was a homeless guy looking for a handout and was never a threat at all (we did feed him) What really freaked me out ... we are standing there and there he is in our face... if he had meant us harm I would have almost no time to just draw the glock out and FORGET ABOUT time to chamber a round. In a bad situation I would have been in trouble. Btw I did have a round chambered and will always carry that way going forward.I just wanted to share this experience . The Biker dude was completely harmless but he appeared in my face with no warning. If you're going to carry , get a good safe holster and by all means be ready if it becomes necessary.It was a great learning experience via /r/CCW http://ift.tt/2nuHgIJ
