Bullet setback experiment

I've seen a lot of chatter lately regarding bullet setback from repeatedly chambering the same round over and over again, so I decided to whip out a digital caliper, some Federal HSTs, some Speer Gold Dots, some Winchester PDX1s, and my trusty Glock 17. The results may or may not surprise you.The experiment was simple. Measure each round, then cycle each round 20 times through my pistol, then measure again. I had a big write up planned but the results ended up being a lot more simple than expected.None of the rounds that I measured were affected by all of the cycling at all. They all measured the same before/after length to the thousandth of an inch.Bullet setback may be a larger issue for other types of ammo, through different guns, but those are the results of my particular experiment. If you carry HSTs or Gold Dots in a Glock (which covers a great deal of you), you probably don't need to worry about setback.Be safe and carry everywhere. via /r/CCW http://ift.tt/2nZfNkr
