Just throwing this out there for folks thinking about carrying something smaller than a double stack in warm weather. I'm by no means an expert, just a guy with an opinion.I'm in Florida, so it's always pretty much summer time for me. I don't have a lot of guns, here is what I'm working with:http://ift.tt/2lTsrP9 - J-Frame gets the nod here. It is a pocket gun. Also when carrying AIWB the part near the belt is much thinner than the Shield, the wider cylinder is below my belt line.Capacity - Shield duh. 7+1 with an 8 round reload is better than 5+5 (or even 5+10). MathReload speed - Shield again. I'm no Jerry MiculekReliability - Wash. Never had a problem with either. I trust them both with my life. If I did have a misfire though, I'd rather have the revolver in my hand when it happens. Pulling the trigger again is easier than tap rack bang.Accuracy - Shield. I shoot better with it. No surprises thereMuh Stoppin Powah - Wash. 9mm and .38 spec are equal in my eyes.Sexiness - J-Frame baby.Final thoughts. I'd never recommend a J-Frame to a new shooter. I'd never recommend a J-Frame as someone's only gun either. Even if pocket carry was the only option, I'd probably steer someone toward a single stack .380 first. Having said that, I will be carrying the revolver more often than the Shield just because of the size. For reference I'm 6' 1" and weigh about 175. I wear shorts and T-shirts more often than not. I have been alternating between the J-Frame and Shield for about two weeks now.Concealing the Glock 17 is out of the question unless I'm wearing a hoodie or jacket, so I carry that off body. via /r/CCW http://ift.tt/2mBvVKu
