So I just recently got my ccw and first handgun, and live in Texas for context. I live in a neighborhood with a fair amount of homeless who are becoming more aggressive. My question is if one man is actively trying to fight me with no visible weapon am I allowed to defend myself? I've heard that if I draw I should shoot, but should I not first see if the gun alone scares him off? I know some will say it's cowardly to not just fight "fair", but I've been in and seen enough fights to know the good guys don't always win and it only takes one hit to knock someone out.
