"Stand Your Ground" and the Castle doctrine are both exceptions to an understood duty to retreat. CO law doesn't recognize a duty to retreat, so it's a bit different. Our "Make My Day" statute seriously lowers the bar on lethal SD in a dwelling as long as an occupant reasonably believes the intruder is going to commit (or has committed) a crime and will use force of any kind to do so.
