If police shout "drop the gun" do you really drop it?

Or should you quickly yet carefully put it down? My carry gun (Bulgarian Makarov PM) has a free floating firing pin. Doesn't that mean it could go off by being dropped? What would you do if the police tell you to "drop it?" via /r/CCW http://ift.tt/2mNNd7O
