Advanced Shooting Class = Awesome!!

YoI grew up around handguns and rifles so most of this isn't new to me. This weekend I took an outdoor shooting class and it was awesome. I wish more people would do a class like that. Some of the drills included:Dealing with malfunctionsQuick reloadingOne handed shootingdrawing and shooting while stepping sidewaysdrawing and shooting while stepping forward and backwardDrawing and shooting at close proximity - hand on the target's headVerbal response to potential threats. Then choosing to draw and shoot or not.Shooting from coverShooting from multiple positions including: sitting and laying.Shooting at targets showing anatomyNo aim shootingIt was a real eye-opener for me about how little shooting at the range actually helps you in most DGU (Defensive Gun Use) scenarios.I highly advise anyone that wants to carry to take a class like this. Maybe even take it annually. It was a great training and very fun! Every drill was just to give us some exposure. I now have plans to run dry drills at home for many of these. What do you think about classes like that? What other drills do you suggest? via /r/CCW http://ift.tt/2mlmm3f
