Texas specific question: re: non-lethal, non-firearm weapons on a school campus

Hi All,

I'm wondering if anyone has any experience (e.g. are you an LEO or lawyer?) in Texas specifically regarding non-lethal, non-firearm weapons on public school campuses. Would an adult staff member be permitted to keep or carry an ASP baton, for example, in a hidden place (in teacher's desk, prinicpal's office, etc)? It sucks being a complete sitting duck should a situation occur. Would be better to at least have the ability to fight with something more than hands.

Note: batons such as these were recently legalized on September 1, 2019, and are legal to carry in Texas, concealed or not.

Thanks.
