Utah's Senate just passed a law lowering the legal intoxication BAC from .08 to .05 and the governor is expected to sign. For an average person, this means that one can be legally intoxicated at the current recommended guideline of one standard drink (.6 oz of pure ETOH, 1 oz of 120 proof liquor, 6 oz of wine, or 12 oz of beer) per hour. It is also very likely that an average person will feel no physical effect at .05 BAC.While this bill is aimed at drivers, it effect CCW in the state. It is illegal to carry while intoxicated, at a .05 a person may be intoxicated even with a pisswater weak Utah beer at lunch. We can expect a "public safety" enforcement crackdown when the law goes into effect. via /r/CCW http://ift.tt/2n34xpt
