After getting my CCW, I purchased an Alien Gear Cloak Tuck IWB 3.0 for my HK VP9. I've made a few comments here regarding the Alien Gear: it's a good holster for the money and I was mostly happy with it. I ordered a StealthGear Ventcore IWB Standard on a whim, honestly. Had some extra cash burning a hole in my pocket, so I figured why not? Been wearing it for a week now.Yes, there is a significant difference. First, is the Ventcore technology. When you hold this holster up against the light, you can see the vent holes. This isn't some marketing gimmick, it truly is a breathable holster and you CAN tell the difference. No more sweaty, irritating skin. Second, the form and fit of the kydex is much better. There's more detail and tighter tolerances, which makes it about 1/4" thinner than the Alien Gear. I had to loosen a few screws because mine was a bit too tight for my tastes. Then again, maybe I was just used to a sloppy fit? Third, the clips feel much more durable. I honestly thought they were metal at first.Comfort and fit is like night and day. After an evening out wearing my Alien Gear, I couldn't wait to get home to take it off. Because the VP9 is a full-sized gun, I don't know that anyone could ever claim they "don't even know it's there", but the StealthGear is by far more comfortable. I don't find myself constantly fidgeting with it or feeling the grip digging into my side. Which is a bit odd considering this holster actually pulls the gun closer to my body, making it more concealed.I normally don't care for posts like this. Feels like someone is a paid shill for a product. But I know there are people on this sub who are a lot like me: unconvinced that dropping a hundred bucks on a holster sight-unseen could really make that much of a difference. Maybe this post will convince a few others to take a leap of faith. It's worth it. via /r/CCW http://ift.tt/2mdTCnR
