Just had 'the talk' with my daughter

I was doing some slow holster drills to program muscle memory while on a conference call 🤘🏼downstairs in my office. I hadn't noticed as I was bounding up the stairs and into the kitchen that my shirt had crept up over my gun.My 10 yr old asked me why I had a gun stuck in my belt. 😳So far they have been oblivious to the fact I have been carrying. They knew about my house gun (M9A3) but not my subcompact. Gigs up I guess. So we talked about why I carry, etc and made it clear that she is not suppose to speak to anyone about me being armed, or ask about it in public. I DID however talk to her about a code word (checkbook) and when/why she would ever want or need to ask me that. She asked some really good questions about my license, asked about background checks (wow!) and other things involved with having a ccw. She's a bright girl.I told her that the last few times her and I had been shopping I was carrying and it blew her mind lol.How have others handled the situation when their kids who are old enough to understand have caught them/confronted them about carrying? via /r/CCW http://ift.tt/2lZNale
