A lurkers advice: Martial Arts as a supplement to CCW

Specifically Krav Maga. I started taking it, and it has really helped me learn helpful hand to hand combat training. I feel this can be the difference between life and death if someone gets the jump on you, or you don't have time to draw your gun. The moves you learn aren't flagrant or complex, just very natural and instinctive. Being able to counter someone who has begun an assault on you may give you time to get away and out of danger, or an opportunity to clear leather.I think it is important for two reasons:1: It's a less than lethal option that can give you the upper hand in a real fight.2: Krav Maga doesn't show up on a metal detector scan or pat down.Plus it gets you in shape which improves quality of thought, action, and life.I would highly recommend considering it. Many people take firearms classes(which I think everyone should take), but what if you run into a situation where your firearm is disabled/unavailable? Knowing how to shoot doesn't really help you without a gun. Krav Maga may give you an opportunity to get to your weapon or create a new one in an otherwise bad situation. What are your thoughts? Have you taken a martial arts course to supplement CCW? Do you think martial arts are for karate kid wannabe's? Are you going to write half a comment but forget to send it when you flush?Share your thoughts below. via /r/CCW http://ift.tt/2nWpWNB
