September /r/CCW Match: Discussion

Most of the September match is set in stone due to agreements with the match sponsor. And if you've been stalking this subreddit, you may already know a few of the sponsors lined up for this fall. But let's talk about some regulations (and open the floor for all discussion) before the September Match goes live this weekend. One such agenda item which I would like to bring to the floor are prize winners. As of yet, no one has won an Overall Winner (grand prize) more than once. Do we need to impose a limit on winning large prizes more than once, consecutive months, once per year, or similar restrictions? While this isn't a problem yet, we want to get ahead of all foreseeable issues. We receive very limited feedback requesting side matches for compacts/subcompacts. This is certainly on our radar as matches continue to grow. As of yet, subcompacts are shooting very competitively at the seven yard distance and winning Overall Winner prizes. We foresee a day when G34's and Governments could dominate these matches, and this is on our radar. We won't allow it to get to that point and we will have matches specifically for compacts and subs before it ever reaches such. But right now, we simply don't see any reason to separate a subcompact match.A Match Sponsor told me that many reflex sights (RDS) do have 0.5/1.5 factor magnification. I wasn't aware of this. The rules do state that optics with magnification are prohibited. That being said, I don't want to see reflex sights prohibited from use, especially considering it's 2019 and so many of us are carrying reflex sights on our daily carry setups. Do we need to change this verbiage to, "Magnification over 1.5x is prohibited" or similar? Please sign and date your targets. It's soul-crushing to delete entries because someone didn't sign and date their target. As always, you're permitted to sign with your reddit username. Or sign your dog's name. I really don't care- just sign your targets. Please.Other discussion is welcome, too. via /r/CCW https://ift.tt/30Ex0SJ
