Is there a way to figure out how many armed civilians have ever been killed by a "typical" mass shooter?I'm not talking about a gangland shooting where there were 4 victims, or a regular dispute with a high casualty count.I got to thinking about the cops who shot the Idaho mass shooter. They were right there around the corner and people still died. This got me thinking, what are the chances one of these mass shootings just happened to start out by killing an armed civilian before s/he knew enough to draw their firearm and shoot back/engage?I'm really curious about statistics of this happening. It seems like these shootings happen in the absence of armed civilians. So maybe this is caused by gun free zones? If that's why, it makes sense. But also, it should mean that an armed civilian has never been killed by a mass shooter, shouldn't it? via /r/CCW https://ift.tt/2U6xFdb
