Indiana Handgun License

Hey guys, hopefully you can help me out. My brother just turned 18 and got approved for an Indiana License to carry a handgun.According to our stepdads sister, who works at the jail, he can’t carry until he’s 21. My brother called the Indiana State Police firearms licensing division and they said he can’t carry until 21 because “Federal law says he can’t buy a handgun until he’s 21”. While this is true, he didn’t buy his handgun. Our dad gifted it to him.I’ve been carrying since I was 18 and I feel like I know the state law fairly well. Everything I’ve seen online says you can carry at 18. Indiana state code says you have to be 18. Not to mention, they issue the license to 18 year olds. Why would they do that if you couldn’t use it?So who’s right? Everything I’ve seen says I’m correct but two people who work for the police say I’m wrong. If my brother gets stopped while carrying will he be okay? Thanks for any insight you guys can give us! via /r/CCW https://ift.tt/2LiDT8e
