UPDATE: Regarding Recent Reddit Content-Policy Changes

Hello everyone! It has been an eventful three weeks while we dealt with the content policy changes implemented by reddit. In case you’re unaware of what happened, here is the old post that discusses the changes in depth.Since then we have been removing comments or posts that linked to websites that sell firearms or ammunition. On Sunday, April 1st /r/gundeals was brought back from the dead with clarification for the new content policy. We at /r/CCW just received clarification of our own:Hey there, sorry for the delay here! We had a lot of messages around this and then some rethinking that lead to the r/gundeals reopening. You can have links out to where ever you'd like, but if the store sells firearms it must have an FFL license. If the store doesn't sell items that meet the ATF definition of a firearm, the FFL license is not required. If the vendor sells ammunition, they must comply with all applicable licensing regulations.Since holsters are considered accessories, they are fine. However, if the site selling them also sells firearms, they must have an FFL license. I hope this helps! What does this mean for you?For the most part things will be returning to normal and comments and posts containing links to deals are one again welcomed. You can link to a website that sells guns provided that the dealer has a FFLYou can link to a website that sells ammunitionYou can link to a website that sells holsters, and if they happen to sell guns then they must have a FFLHowever, private sales between two users will not be permitted on /r/CCW. We have never allowed this, but explicit enforcement will begin today. This includes conversations on Freedom Friday. We hope that this clears some things up and if you have any further questions please leave them here and we will answer them as we can. via /r/CCW https://ift.tt/2GUuq5d
