This happened a few years ago but I remember it well. I was in my early 20's and stopped at a small gas station near my house (that I'd been to many times) around 8pm. It was getting dark out. I left my GF in the car along with our toddler, and her sister and kid.I was standing by the gas pump waiting for the car to fill up when a red SUV pulled up perpendicular to the front of our car. I guess so our car couldn't drive forward. A Hispanic man got out of the suv and walked around the front of it and approached the driver's side fender of our car (same side as me) He was holding a flashlight in one hand and I couldn't really see the other hand. Simultaneously I had cleared clothing and had my hand on the grip. I didn't know if he was armed or not. Immediately the man retreated and drove off. The occupants of my car opened the back door and yelled at me to get in the car, and that the man had a gun!It all happened in a few seconds. I don't know if the man saw kids in the car and had a change of heart or if he saw my Glock and didn't want to risk getting shot. I'm pretty certain he saw it because it was right when he started coming around the front of the car and could get an unobstructed view of me.The police were called a helicopter was in the area in a couple of minutes. I'm assuming they never saw the guy since i didn't get any follow up phone calls. My take away were to always wear contact lenses when carrying, which I had stupidly forgot to wear that day. The other thing I took away was to try fill up during the day time, or choose a well lit and busy gas station. I've since moved to a nicer place. via /r/CCW https://ift.tt/2KcUVk7
