Frontline Hidden IWB Leather Holster for the Jericho/Baby Eagle F Overview and Initial Impressions

For those of you who just want pictures, they're at the bottom of the post. After acquiring a police trade-in IMI Jericho 941F, I made do for a months with an Uncle Mike's universal IWB. The lack of retention lead me to start looking for an alternative.Being a bit old-school I prefer leather holsters. After being stumped by the lack of offerings for the older 941F, which doesn't have the rail that's on the current production model, by both domestic holster makers and the fairly popular Israeli company Fobus, I was told about Frontline by some Israeli friends of mine.Frontline is an Israeli holster manufacturer that has been in business since 1961. Despite that, they seem to have very little presence in the US. Personally, I've never seen one of their products sitting on a shelf in a LGS, and don't recall ever seeing an advertisement for their products in any of the gun rags I used to subscribe to, or online. On to the holster itself. It's a fairly basic and probably familiar leather holster design paired with a kydex j hook.Rentention is quite tight, thanks in large part to two leather "rails" that run the front half of the length of the top of the holster. The holster is shaped for both the frame safety of the 941F, and the slide safety fo the 941R.The holster itself is attached to your belt by a kydex j hook system that is held in place by three rivets. The cant of the holster is not adjustable. The only other downside to this method of belt attachment is that the holster can not be removed or put back on your belt without undoing it. If you have to put your holder on and take it off repeatedly throughout the day this may be a little cumbersome and difficult to do in a more public setting. The stiff leather construction and solid belt attachment make unholstering and reholstering your pistol very simple and straightforward.Personally, I don't tuck my shirts in, and the grip length if this particular pistol leads to printing issues when your shirt is tucked in. That being said, the holster works as advertised and you can tuck your shirt in around your holster and pistol without any problems. When paired with my Hank's Amish Gunner belt, this holster makes hauling around my nearly three pound pistol easy and painless. Will it ever "disappear" like an Airweight J-Frame or subcompact polymer single stack? No, but I like to think of the weight as a reminder of the responsibility we all carry when we exercise our right to defend ourselves. This particular holster was fairly reasonably priced at $58 on Amazon.Album.Manufacturer's page.If there's enough interest, I may do a follow-up post in a few months. Thanks for reading.http://ift.tt/2mDhMOn via /r/CCW http://ift.tt/2zai9FH
