Narrowing search down for first all-around (range/carry/home defense) handgun. Looking for suggestions an input.

Hello, I’ll be getting my CCW here in a month or two and as the title says I’m trying to find something that will do pretty much anything I need as it will be my only handgun for a while (graduating in December so not too much disposable income, Dad is helping me out with first handgun). From what I’ve read online, a compact frame with a 4” barrel seems to be a sweet spot for getting as close to a “do it all” handgun as you can, but I could be totally wrong. So far I’ve narrowed my search down to: M&P 2.0 compact - this gun looks fantastic to me, if it ends up being the one I get I’ll be quickly swapping the stock trigger out for an apex tactical trigger. The only thing that doesn’t do it for me about this gun is the “Caution: Capable of firing with magazine removed” warning - I internally sigh every time I see it.Next up is the P320 compact - looks great, haven’t done enough research on recommended mods to fix any glaring/annoying out of the box issues. Finally there’s the FN 509 midsize - this looks great and supposedly it’s one of the best out of the box handguns out there right now.I know, I know, I left the Glock 19 off the list, I’ve gotten countless “for your first handgun just get the Glock” comments. The glock just doesn’t do it for me visually. That all being said, I haven’t had the opportunity to shoot ANY of these yet - I fully intend on renting each of these (yes, including the glock) so that I can find what feels/works best for me.Please share any insights on the guns that I’ve listed here, what’d you like? What didn’t you like? Do you have problems carrying any of these for X Y or Z reasons? via /r/CCW https://ift.tt/2YDQMwH
