Carrying ammo without changing it out for long periods of time. My anecdotal experience.

Recently I've been reading about how often people change their ammo and have seen opinions ranging from two months to every year.Well, I decided to check and see when I purchased my carry ammo.It turns out that I've been carrying the same ammo for 2 years and 10 months. I have carried it in the Florida heat and humidity. It has been left in my car every day that I've worked or attended school. So this ammo has been cycled up to over 100 deg F and back easily 500 times. So, while my sample size is relatively low, I think it's still pretty interesting.I would suspect that the 2 month guys would expect every round to be dead and the 1 year guys would expect a low, but present failure rate.I only fired what I had with me, but all 10 shots were perfect. No failures whatsoever.I was shooting CorBon DPX (The old style) 9mm 115 gr. +P.I still have 6 rounds in my spare magazine, but I will be replacing it with some new Federal HSTs. I would love to have chronographed them. via /r/CCW https://ift.tt/2BYmAU6
