So as most of you know, Delta has quietly started tagging bags containing firearms with a CAGPT tag. Some here believe that the tag doesn't violate the law because the tag can be used on any bag containing high-value items. A chat with a Delta baggage handler confirmed that the tag was so rarely used previous to this change in policy that now, any bag tagged as CAGPT is assumed by Delta baggage handlers to contain a firearm.So yeah, Delta is marking bags containing firearms contrary to federal law. Every Delta baggage handler knows what the tag means. We're back to the days when airlines put a big red "F" on your baggage ticket to indicate a firearm.
