CCW options for someone with limited hand strength

Two of my very good friends (my college buddy and his wife) finally obtained their CCW permits. My college buddy has settled on a P365 for his weapon of choice after he shot mine and has shown to be a rather good marksman with it. The dilemma we are having is with his wife. While she is no stranger to firearms, having gone out shooting with us many times, she is petite at 5' 2" and is a bit recoil shy. Particularly more so after having had her left arm and hand seriously injured in a T-bone crash where she got hit by a red light runner 2 years ago. As a result, she has limited strength in her left hand, but can pretty much use it as normal for operating controls and manipulating objects.Since the crash, she has been unable to work a slide with her left hand (she is right handed), but has been able to use a tabletop to snag the rear sight and push down to cycle it. She isn't very confident with the P365 and finds the recoil too snappy since her left hand isn't helping with support much. At this point, she has shown more interest in revolvers, particularly my alloy-framed S&W 317 chambered in .22lr. She is able to dump the 8 round cylinder into a hand-sized group at 5yds. using only her right hand and is able to use her left sufficiently to facilitate reloads. At this point, we are looking at a Ruger LCR in .22lr for her. While .22 isn't most people's first choice for defense, we subscribe to the philosophy of "any gun is better than no gun". She likes the trigger pull of the LCR, having shot mine in .38spl, but that round is too much for her to essentially shoot one-handed.I am posting this here to pick the collective knowledge vault and see if there are any suggestions for other guns my friend can try. We have a local gun shop that has an in-house range and rents out a variety of guns to try. I've seen small pocket-autos as well as other snubbies. I'm doubtful she would be able to handle more than maybe a .32ACP and I haven't seen any j-frame sized revolvers chambered in that caliber. I did see S&W offers the Model 351 which is chambered in .22magnum. I know that round will lose a lot of muzzle velocity out of a snubby, but I'm thinking it may be the best compromise between power, recoil, and her ability to operate her firearm.TL:DR - Looking for a CCW weapon for a friend with limited use of her left hand due to past injury and essentially shoots one-handed. Is somewhat recoil shy as a result, but has proven to be able to utilize a .22lr revolver quite well. Curious to see what others might recommend for such an individual. Thanks! via /r/CCW https://ift.tt/3eHrrdw
