Someone told me about gun use in the home is it true?

"If it's a concern of yours then that's perfectly valid. Insulting people who own guns as being unaware of the risk is pretty indefensible though. There are plenty of robberies but the risk factors are pretty interesting. OF that 125,000 only 28% where the offender was a stranger to the victim. So 35,000 violent burglaries by a stranger. OF which they don't even bother classifying murder as a possibility.
