Florida Stand Your Ground question

I finally took my CCW course today and the instructor said the FL Stand Your Ground law is not applicable anymore, is this true? He said in Florida, you have to retreat or make an effort to retreat. This is the first time I’ve heard of this. I always thought FL was a stand your ground state. I mean, if you can’t stand your ground, what’s the point of having your CCW?The whole course was 3 hours long and I didn’t feel like I learned anything. He went over the laws of what not to do but I feel like I’ve learned more from this subreddit. After all the laws and classroom work, we each shot 2 rounds into a target 5 yards away. I left a little disappointed. via /r/CCW http://ift.tt/1UchoKH
