Some thoughts (and questions) after my first 24 hours CCW...

I picked up my first handgun recently; a S&W M&P 380 Bodyguard. I couldn't pass up the sale price, and I really liked the small size as I felt it would be the best option for both business and casual attire. I installed a Techna Clip on the side, and picked up DeSantis pocket holster for when clipping it into a pocket isn't feasible. I opted for the safety-less version at the urging of both Reddit and the salesman...It felt really weird carrying a loaded gun around... Does the "I'm breaking the law" feeling ever go away? I was standing in line at a coffee shop when a group of cops walked in and waited in line behind me. I was just waiting for them to start harassing me, and even though it didn't happen, I still felt like I was doing something wrong. I live in a state with permitless carry, so not having an official card or other evidence to put my mind at ease probably contributed to that. The Techna Clip is awesome for jeans with pockets that cut straight across your hip with little dip, but absolute shit for any other pants with pockets that dip lower down, such as those in dress pants. The gun just slides down and hangs awkwardly.Since the Techna Clip was awful in my dress pants, I tried it with the pocket holster, and that was no better. Sure, the gun was secure and no part of it could be seen, but it felt (and looked) like I had $100 in quarters in my pocket. With my phone in my other pocket, I felt like I was wearing a tool belt, and it looked ridiculous, with two big lumps sitting on top of my thighs. What's the Reddit-approved CCW for dress slacks with a tucked in shirt??I carry with a round in the chamber, and as noted above, I opted for the safety-less version. The trigger pull on this gun is HEAVY, and LONG, and safety enough, but I'm still concerned that I'm going to shoot myself in the leg fumbling around for some keys or change. Am I crazy? via /r/CCW http://ift.tt/1Vt0gWk
